BETS ON IAN BLAIR’S REPLACEMENT AS MET CHIEF
Following news this week that Sir Ian Blair is to resign as Metropolitan Police Commissioner, bookmakers Paddy Power have released odds on who will replace him. Deputy Met Commissioner Paul Stephenson is hotly tipped to take over the role at odds of 1/2. Deputy since 2005, it’s thought Stephenson would make a comfortable transition to Head of the Met.
Other names that could be in the running to take over the role include assistant commissioner John Yates at 6/1, 2nd Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland Sir Hugh Orde at 8/1 and current Chief Constable of West Midland’s Police Sir Paul Scott-Lee at 10/1.
